AVITUS (1) raced below his best last time when tenth over 1200m at Riccarton Park, beaten 6 lengths. Likely improver with strong prospects. EXPLOSIVE LASS (7) is backing up a week after finishing fifth over 1400m at Riccarton Park. Well placed to make amends. MYSTIC OCEAN (8) registered her first win last start over 1200m at Riccarton Park, getting home by a nose. Ashvin Goindasamy was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. This is tougher but she cannot be underestimated.
