BORRELLI (2) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 3.5 lengths when fourth in a 900m contest at Springsure five-and-a-half weeks ago. Taking on a better field but he is up to the task. SPITZBERG (7) produced a reasonable effort when second last start after being prominent at the bend over 1400m at Sunshine Coast, beaten a head. That followed a win at Gladstone the start prior. Finds a suitable race and can get the job done. QUARTER RED (5) has been in good form, scoring three back at Wandoan then placing twice in a row, most recently finishing third when he was in the firing line all the way over 1000m at Dalby. Will enjoy the drop in grade so he is all set to build on that latest effort. BETTER ACRES (9) produced another moderate effort last start when 6 lengths from the winner in tenth over 1200m at Rockhampton. Suitably placed so can turn things around.
