SANTASIA (1) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at Parkes, finishing fourth and only 2 lengths from the winner at the end of 1200m after being in contention on the turn. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. MAGIC FOREST (4) was only a neck from the winner in second last time out in a small field over 1000m at Canberra at the first run of the campaign on soft going. Will be fitter for that run, can go one better today. MAGNA MAK (2) is a three-year-old filly who is having her first run for the Wayne Carroll yard. Finished off last campaign with a win at Cranbourne four-and-a-half months ago. Not seen at the trials but looks well placed. Definite winning chance. SPIRIT LAKE (3) strode forward early from her wide draw over 1200m at Wagga Riverside last time, leading into the straight but fading right out of it to finish 11th. Can give backers a sight.
