A SHIN ZODIAC (7) improved sharply on his fourth two starts back at this track with success as favourite over 1400m at Kawasaki two weeks ago, getting home by one length after being prominent at the bend. Nicely placed to feature in the finish again. VERMOGEN (3) started at $3.90 last time on the back of a win at this track two starts ago but was below her best, finishing ninth over 1500m at Funabashi. Likely improver with strong prospects. SUMMER STORY (1) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1400m at Kawasaki, beaten 3.5 lengths into seventh. No surprise to see him in contention.
