THE SCUNNER (1) started at $6.70 last time and ran below expectations, finishing 11th and beaten 8 lengths at Te Rapa over 1600m. Hard to beat in this suitable race. RAGAMUFFIN (6) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when 11th, beaten 5 lengths, over 1600m at Wanganui after he got a long way back. Should be peaking now and is a key runner. LEMAITRE (7) bounced back last start and scored by a head over 1650m at Waverley. Nicely placed to keep the ball rolling.
