MONDAY MELODY (2) had been rock-solid with three placings in a row before finishing seventh over 1600m at Ellerslie last start. Goes well at this trip, recording four minor placings and is sure to run well. WHAT A YARN (19) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1600m at Ellerslie, beaten only a nose after being in contention on the corner. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. MACALUSO (15) settled well back from a good draw last time before running on solidly to finish sixth, beaten 5.5 lengths, over 1300m at this track. Can feature in the finish. NOBLE BOY (6) fought on for third last start over 1600m at Tauranga, beaten 4 lengths to add to some fine recent form. Nicely placed to take this out.
