THE IMMIGRANT (2) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 5 lengths when tenth over 1600m at Riccarton Park a month ago. Ideally placed and is sure to prove tough to beat. ON THE RIVET (4) was in contention on the bend and progressed nicely last start to finish a close third over 2200m at Ashburton after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. CHASE 'N' GOLD (13) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then didn't feature last start when 12 lengths away in 14th over 1600m at Riccarton Park. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. CLAIRE'S PAL (7) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish fourth, beaten 2 lengths, over 2200m at Wingatui. Sure to give a sight.
