FLOOD AND FIRE (4) was a long way back last start but hit the line well to finish fourth, beaten 2.5 lengths, over 2200m at Bendigo. Outsprinted in the run home but kept coming and the extra ground looks a big plus. Will be winding up strongly. EYES TO ME (9) raced on pace for much of the way before fading in the straight to finish seventh, beaten 10 lengths, over 2761m here last time. Can bounce back. SANDPIPER (10) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing second and beaten only 0.8 lengths over 2000m at Kilmore after being prominent at the corner. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. A BLUE STAR (12) showed good early dash last start and held on well to finish a nose back in second over 2000m at Casterton. Placed to advantage and can take this out.
