ALPINE FLYER (6) turned in a solid fresh performance last start when a minor placegetter over 1400m at Oakbank, beaten 1.5 lengths. Has a very strong second-up record, including four wins, and has plenty of upside with the run under her belt. Winning chance. PERSIAN SPIRIT (11) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 1200m at Terang after being prominent from the outset. Must raise the bar but another big run is on the cards. OCEAN BEYOND (9) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1400m at Flemington, beaten 2.25 lengths into fourth. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is capable of testing his rivals. MAGNASPIN (1) returns from a layoff of four months. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1500m at Sandown-Hillside. Worth plenty of thought.
