DESERT OPAL (5) was a determined maiden winner last time out, scoring by a neck over 1400m at Albury. Has a low draw and a bold showing is expected. PERFUME RIVER (9) broke her maiden last start over 1600m at Swan Hill, scoring by 2.75 lengths. Nicely placed to double the win tally. HAMAGUCHI (7) broke his maiden last start over 1300m at Goulburn, scoring by a head. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. One of the likely contenders despite the step up in grade. DOC MARCH (11) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1600m at this track, beaten 2.75 lengths into fourth. Finds a nice race and can atone.
