UNDERSTUDY (3) broke his maiden last start over 1500m at Mornington, scoring by a long neck. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Big chance to go back-to-back. MORE TORQUE (6) resumed over 1543m at Geelong where he showed little early speed but got home nicely to finish fourth, beaten 2.5 lengths. Will drift back but is going to be hard to hold out. GULFSTATE (5) missed the placings two runs back then got a long way back last start when 7 lengths away in ninth over 1400m at Sale. Has the ability to put the recent run of form behind him. DOWNTOWN MAN (18) comes here following a win over 1600m at Balnarring two weeks ago, getting home by 1.75 lengths. Can give this a shake.
