Has a wide gate to overcome but on recent form should go well. WHISTLING SPIRIT (4) wasn't far away last time out, finishing sixth over 1400m at Sunshine Coast Poly after he gave away a big start. The extra journey should play into his hands. One of the better chances. BETTER YET (3) improved sharply on her fifth two starts back at Port Macquarie with a win over 1710m at this track three-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by a head. Looks well placed so expect another big run. SPILL THE SECRET (1) ran well despite being friendless in betting last time over 1680m at this track, finishing second and beaten a neck at $31. Has a decent record at this trip with four minor placings from five tries and must be respected.
