CUBAN DAWN (1) was thereabouts last time out when fifth over 1400m at Geelong. Won't be bothered by this longer journey. Worth following up. CONTACTED (9) was close to breaking through last time, beaten just a neck over 1500m at Bendigo. Ideally placed to open her account. FAERYWOOD (2) finished third last start over 1500m at Ballarat, beaten 3 lengths. This is the right race and can get the job done. BLACK CHERRY (8) settled well back but hit the line well to finish fourth, beaten 6 lengths, over 1412m here last time. Worth including.
