NEW JOY (2) used the rails draw to good effect last start, bouncing straight to the lead and scoring an all-the-way win over 1600m at this track. Has a win and two minor placings at this journey from four starts and shapes as a key contender. CHAYSE 'N' ARTIE (1) settled well back then picked up fairly well in the straight and finished 1.75 lengths away in fourth last time out over 1200m at this track when resuming from a spell. Tackles a longer journey this time. Settles back early but winds up late. Will prove hard to hold out. GRINZINGER KNIGHT (3) was in the money two starts back at Gold Coast Poly but couldn't back it up last time when sixth, beaten 2.5 lengths, at Ipswich over 1700m after being prominent at the corner. Nicely placed to bounce back. POSEIDON RULER (9) drifted well back last start before winding up strongly to just miss out over 1350m at this track. Well placed and is among the chances.
