SMOKIN' GIANT (15) missed the placings two runs back then settled well back last start when 7 lengths away in sixth over 2200m at Ararat. Nicely placed to get the prize. ALBANIAN STAR (5) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 1400m at Seymour. Drawn for a good trail just off the pace. Likely improver with strong prospects. KHANT BEE (16) drifted well back last start then wound up strongly to finish fifth, beaten 7 lengths, over 1800m at Horsham. Should prove tough to hold out. TENACE (17) returned from a spell five-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 2.75 lengths into seventh over 1306m at Ararat. Strips fitter and can feature in the finish.
