ORMOND ROAD (1) turned in a decent effort last start to finish third over 2070m at Doomben. Enjoys a drop in grade so he is sure to prove hard to beat. PREFER TO DANCE (5) was in the money two starts back at Gold Coast then missed the frame but was not too far away last time over 2070m at Doomben. The blinkers go on. Key runner who can get off the mark. PIERANT (4) finished seventh last start over 2228m at Gold Coast after racing on the pace for much of the way. Must be included among the main hopes. SAVEA (2) turned in a better run last start, beaten 2.25 lengths into fifth over 2000m at Gatton. Better than recent efforts suggest.
