MAXIMUM VORTEX (1) showed good early dash and raced on the speed last start before fading to finish 4.5 lengths back in seventh over 1200m at Eagle Farm. Likely to measure up. THE ASTRONOMER (3) resumes today after closing off last preparation with three consecutive wins, the latest over 1200m at Gold Coast on December 7. Should be poised just off the lead. One of the main contenders. DIS IS HEAVEN (5) wound up strongly last time out to finish 0.7 lengths adrift in third over 1000m at Warwick Farm. Change of rider to Luke Rolls who has two wins when aboard. Don't underestimate.
