CORTAIN (12) showed good speed to lead over 2100m at Horsham last start but faded right out of it to finish tenth. Settles back early but winds up late. One of the leading chances. NEW YORK SCANDAL (4) drifted well back last start before winding up strongly to finish third, beaten 2.5 lengths, over 1512m at Geelong. Should run on into the finish again. MISS BARILOCHE (7) was out of the money when resuming two runs back then again missed the frame last start when she settled well back over 1600m at Bendigo, beaten 2 lengths into seventh. Finds a nice race and can feature in the finish. THEOPHILUS (6) ran a better race last start to finish fifth over 1400m at Bendigo, beaten 5 lengths. Tackles a longer journey this time around and is capable of further improvement.
