AFTERNOON SIESTA (7) produced a nice effort on debut in better company last start over 1400m at Trentham when second, beaten a head. Likely improver so a big run is anticipated. MERKEL (10) was prominent into the straight last time but was overwhelmed late and wound up in fourth over 1650m at Waverley. Among the top chances in what looks a most suitable race. TYCOON BOSS (17) resumed from a spell last start with a sound third over 1350m at this track. This is an easier race so he is a key runner. ELPEDRO (2) finished third last start over 1200m at Waverley when he worked home well, beaten 2 lengths. Will strip fitter this time. Must be respected.
