FLAMENCO (4) is yet to fill a placing in two runs since resuming from a spell, the latest when sixth over 2400m at Te Rapa. Has never been out of the placings at the third run in and looks set to find best form. OPERA BELLE (14) made progress last time out, finishing 2.75 lengths from the winner in third at the end of 2200m at Te Rapa after being in contention on the corner. Finds a suitable race and can take the next step and salute. HOOTIE JOHNSON (11) was allowed to drift back from an outside draw last time but found the line strongly to finish sixth, beaten 7 lengths, over 1600m at Matamata. Outsprinted in the run home but kept coming and the longer journey looks ideal. Can run on into the finish here. MUSCOVADO (3) was beaten 6 lengths into fourth at the second run back from a break in a 2100m contest at Ellerslie two-and-a-half weeks ago. Well placed to turn things around.
