Nicely placed to make amends. BIG AMERICAN (5) got the prize two runs ago at this track. Couldn't follow that up last time out when sixth over 1400m at this track, beaten 8 lengths after being in contention on the bend. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. VANBEE (7) did little and finished 23 lengths from the winner in 13th over 1600m at this track last start, a less impressive effort than his 12th at this track the run before. Meets some better types this time but a big run will not surprise. TOA KALAKAUA (1) raced on the speed and dug deep to score by 0.8 lengths at today's track and trip last start in a much improved run. Likely to be there at the finish again.
