AGAINST THE WIND (1) produced a reasonable effort after being in contention on the turn to finish 2.75 lengths away in third last start over 1000m at York. That followed a first-up win at Thirsk. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. MADEMOISELLE (5) worked home well to grab second at her latest appearance at Goodwood over 1000m. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Capable of testing this field. CAPE SOVEREIGN (16) was in the money two starts back at Beverley then missed the frame but was not too far away last time over 1000m at York. Settles off the speed. Suited here and can sneak into the finish.
