Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is one of the key runners. ARUNDEL CASTLE (7) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing fourth and beaten only 1.75 lengths over 1600m at Te Rapa when he made late ground. Must raise the bar but a big run is on the cards. PEERLESS (11) finished out of the money two starts back then he was never in contention and was beaten 2.75 lengths when seventh in a 1600m contest at Te Rapa three weeks ago. Meets some better types this time but a big run is on the cards. ON THE TOWN (10) hit the frame two starts ago at Te Rapa but ran below par last time when eighth and beaten 3 lengths over 1600m at Te Rapa. Has his share of ability and can do a lot better.
