Finished fifth when fresh from a spell two starts back at Southwell All Weather then improved and scored over 1400m at Newmarket (Rowley) five days ago, getting home by 1.75 lengths. Enjoys a drop in grade so he is a big chance to go back-to-back. MARSH BENHAM (3) got home by just a head at his latest appearance over 1600m at Newbury. Gets some weight relief this time so he is among the leading chances again. ULTRAMARINE (1) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with just five wins from 53 starts. Did a good job last start to finish third over 1200m at Chelmsford, beaten 1.75 lengths. In the right race and there is no reason he cannot get the major prize. POWER OF GOLD (2) has not won for a long while. Last raced on April 27 when beaten 7 lengths into seventh at Wetherby over 1600m after being prominent at the bend. Placed to advantage and can feature in the finish.
