CLAVEL (5) ran 11th at her latest appearance over 1400m at Flemington, finishing 5.5 lengths from the winner. Expecting a bold showing. VEGAS ON FIRE (4) resumed over 1300m at Seymour last start and was too good for her rivals, scoring by a nose. Will be better for that latest run and must be respected. UNIVERSALLY (9) showed little early speed last start and failed to come on in the straight when eighth, beaten 7 lengths, over 1600m at Bendigo. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. DESIGNS OF EIGHT (12) raced below her best last time when sixth over 1800m at Horsham, beaten 9 lengths. Well placed and should be in the mix.
