HAMAGUCHI (1) is a three-start maiden who missed the frame first-up but has improved in subsequent runs, finishing in the money last start over 1300m at Moruya after being prominent at the turn. Meets some better types this time but another big run will not surprise. SAWMILL (9) wasn't far off maiden success before a break of five months, finishing the campaign with a minor placing over 1100m at this track. Strong winning chance on best figures. SNUBA (11) could only manage to finish fourth, beaten 5 lengths, at her latest appearance over 1300m at Goulburn. Worth plenty of thought.
