SLATE RIPPER (4) drifted well back and failed to finish it off last start when tenth, beaten 6 lengths, over 1500m at Bendigo. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time. THEO FIVE (12) ran fourth at his latest appearance over 1400m at Wodonga, clocking in 5 lengths from the winner. Has a win and one placing at this journey from five starts. Sure to prove tough to beat. BOBOTOV (9) showed good early dash and raced on the speed last start before fading to finish 1.5 lengths back in fourth over 1300m at Wangaratta. One of the main contenders. SON OF ZORRO (5) spoiled a good run of form last start when seventh over 1000m at Wangaratta. Goes aboard this time. Nicely placed to turn things around.
