WHITSON (9) scored two back at Terang but was below his best last time when eighth over 1200m at Kilmore. This is a nice drop in grade so he is a major player. MELIDESH (3) built on a nice third two starts back at Geelong with success as favourite over 1200m at Ballarat Synthetic two weeks ago, getting home by half a length. Enjoys a drop in grade so he is all set to build on that latest effort. SNAPPY TYCOON (1) did little and finished 3.5 lengths from the winner in seventh over 1103m at Kyneton last start after being in the firing line on the turn, a less impressive effort than his sixth at Bendigo the run before. Has the ability to figure prominently. WRITTEN ROYALTY (7) finished sixth two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1208m at Sale, beaten a long neck. Best efforts measure up so capable of another big run.
