Sound record at this distance with two wins and four minor placings from nine runs and looks a top chance. WARICA (6) started at $7 last time and ran below expectations, finishing fifth and beaten 2.5 lengths at this track over 1150m. Meets a stronger field but he is up to the task. PERIWINKLE (5) turned in a strong run two starts ago at Launceston then failed to back it up over 1200m at Hobart last time, beaten 4 lengths into seventh. Looks better placed over this shorter trip so worth forgiving. GEEGEE JET BY (3) has been freshened up since he was safely held in fifth over 1120m at Launceston six-and-a-half weeks ago. Will find this easier than last start. Sure to be thereabouts.
