We’ve got the Friday night double again, with the injury-ravaged Bulldogs taking on the Dockers, plus the Showdown between the Power and Crows.
Western Bulldogs vs Fremantle Dockers
A rematch of their Round 24 clash at Marvel which had finals intensity, won by Fremantle.
Tim English returns for the Bulldogs, a crucial inclusion that gives them more flexibility, while the Dockers enter this Round 8 clash with a 6-1 record.
Leg 1 - Over 184.5 Total Points
Scoring has been down for the Bulldogs, but English’s return should help structurally.
These sides have played in plenty of high-scoring games, with nine of their last 11 going over, including the last six.
The last five at Marvel between these teams have all gone over, and with the Dogs struggling to contain key forwards, Fremantle could pile on a score.
Leg 2 - Jordan Clark 25+ Disposals
Half-backs continue to dominate against the Bulldogs, and Clark is in elite form.
He’s hit 25+ disposals in five of his last six games and should again find plenty of ball.
Recent examples include Geelong’s backline combining for 77 disposals, and Sydney’s for 67 last week.
Adelaide Crows vs Port Adelaide Power
One of the great AFL rivalries, the Showdown always delivers.
Adelaide enter as favourites, but Port have been more impressive recently and look dangerous.
This shapes as a defining game for the Crows, who can’t afford to slip to 3-5.
Leg 3 - Jason Horne-Francis 25+ Disposals
Josh Carr has unleashed Horne-Francis in the midfield and the results have followed.
He’s attended over 65% of centre bounces in the last two games, recording 28 and 34 disposals.
With Jordan Dawson out, Port’s midfield should take control.
Leg 4 - Izak Rankine 1+ Goals
Rankine may spend more time in the midfield, but will still impact forward.
He’s kicked at least one goal in 14 of his last 15 games.
Against Port, he’s kicked 12 goals in five games as a Crow and has scored in all of them.
