SAM HAWKENS (3) is coming along nicely this prep. Finished fourth when fresh from a spell two starts back at Ripon then improved and scored over 2500m at Newcastle All Weather five weeks ago, getting home by 1.75 lengths. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. KING'S SCHOLAR (5) did a great job to score by 0.8 lengths over today's course and distance last time out to make it two-for-two this prep. Finds a tougher race but another win beckons. SAVROLA (7) had been in great form winning two on end before finishing second last time out over 2600m at this track. Certainly worth another chance. PER CONTRA (6) finished fifth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 2500m at Chester, beaten just 0.8 lengths. Well placed and can figure in the finish again.
