COLD GIN (11) was lining up for just the second time last start when second over 1100m at Canterbury, beaten 1.75 lengths. Will drift back but wind up late. Heading the right way and is expected to prove tough to beat. HEREWARD (1) ran well on debut last start to finish second over 1400m at Hawkesbury in a tougher race. Tricky draw to overcome but he should pay to follow. SOUTHERN PRINCE (7) resumed from a spell last start with a sound third over 1250m at Newcastle. Stepping up a level this time but he is one of the key runners. INSPIRED LEGEND (10) started at big odds on debut last start when sixth, beaten 2.5 lengths, over 1400m at Kembla Grange. Has upside and must be respected.
