The Most Improved is one of the closest followed NBA Player Awards across the season, due to how open the award generally is providing great value. We’ve got a couple of options paying long odds for this season that fit the profile.

Best Bet

Brandon Miller @ $9.50

Brandon Miller fits the profile perfectly in a new high-usage role for the Hornets this season.

With LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges traded out, the keys go to Brandon Miller and he’s played well without the pair over the last two seasons. Without Ball, Miller has averaged 24.4 points per game from a ten-game sample, and without Bridges from 18 games that average jumps to 25.2 per game. Without both, 27.2 points per game from six outings.

Averaging 20.2 last season, I can see Miller averaging 26+ per game in this role for Charlotte, and if they can do enough to make the playoffs, he’s in the box seat for the Most Improved Player.

Next Best

Matas Buzelis @ $31

When looking for a Most Improved Player, we want someone that can average 20+ points per game, generally in their third year in the league, a starter and key offensive player for their team. Enter Matas Buzelis.

The Bull finished last season on fire, averaging 20.1 points from his last 15, showing that he’s a capable scorer in the league.

Although rookie Caleb Wilson will take some usage, Buzelis seemed to build chemistry with Australian Josh Giddey last season which will put him in good stead to be their number one offensive option. If he can lead Chicago to the play-in, he’s a chance for the Most Improved.

Value Bet

Quentin Grimes @ $51

He nearly won this award before when he went berserk post All-Star in the 2024-25 season for the 76ers, averaging 25.3 points per game from his last 20 of that season.

Quentin Grimes heads to the Lakers as a starting small forward, and although he’s the third offensive option behind Luka and Reaves, he’s still an option, which is more than you can say for last year in his bench role.

He’s a proven scorer, and in a team that lacks offensive depth I think he will get plenty of looks as a two-way player in this Lakers squad. If they can become a top-four seed in the West with Grimes scoring around 20 per game, he’s a genuine chance.
