Collingwood produced an emphatic win on Anzac Day, but they won’t have it that easy on Thursday night when they face the 6-1 Hawks.

Collingwood Magpies vs Hawthorn Hawks

Collingwood enters this clash off a five-day break following their demolition of Essendon.

Scott Pendlebury turned back the clock with a career-best disposal game, but he’ll be rested alongside Jeremy Howe, while Beau McCreery also misses.

Hawthorn regain James Sicily and Dylan Moore from suspension and come in as red-hot favourites aiming for a seventh straight win.

Leg 1 – Under 175.5 Total Points

Three of Collingwood’s last four games have gone over, but that’s not their usual profile. They still feature in the lowest scoring games in the AFL after Round 7, averaging just 156.1 total points.

Hawthorn games have been slightly higher scoring, but only two of their seven games this season have gone over.

Seven of the last eight night games between these sides have gone under, including the last six. Expect Hawthorn’s defence to control this.

Leg 2 – Josh Battle 20+ Disposals

Collingwood allow opponents to control the ball in their defensive half, as seen with Archie Roberts’ 42 disposals on Anzac Day.

Hawthorn are comfortable switching play across half-back, and Battle is central to that. He’s averaging 20.9 disposals this season and has hit 20+ in four of seven games.

After 29 disposals last week, this shapes as another strong matchup.

Leg 3 – Jack Ginnivan 1+ Goals

This is a genuine grudge game for Ginnivan against his former side.

Now playing more as a winger, he’s still hitting the scoreboard with eight goals from seven games, including at least one in six of those.

Expect him to make an impact here.

Leg 4 – Jack Ginnivan 20+ Disposals

Ginnivan is averaging a career-high 20.3 disposals in his new role.

He’s hit 20+ in four of seven games this season, and historically has lifted against Collingwood.

Last year he had 31 disposals and three goals in Round 12, followed by 26 in Round 22. Big stage, big performer.
