We ramp up heading into Christmas Day, with 10 more games on Sunday’s slate including a big battle in the East between the Celtics and Raptors.

The Boston Celtics have been one of the best teams in the NBA the last few years, but everyone expected a major drop off with the injury to Tatum and departures of key players in the off-season.

At 16-11, they sit fourth in the East and are flying with the second best net rating this month.

They head to Toronto who are third in the East at 17-11, but have struggled at home court of late.

The Celtics are low-key really good with a number of role players stepping up in the absence of Tatum and departures of Holiday, Porzingis and Kornet.

In December, Boston has the second-highest net rating only behind the dominant OKC, while the Raptors are ranked 19th this month.

Toronto has one of the worst coverage rates at home in the NBA going at 28% including losing their last four games at home, while the Celtics enter this off no rest which hasn’t been an issue for them this season going 4-1.

One of the men that Joe Mazzulla has unleashed this season. Jordan Walsh was deep on the Celtics bench last season, and he’s now starting at Power Forward and playing well.

Walsh has averaged 13 points and 6.9 rebounds from his last eight games, covering this PR number in seven of those games.

Minutes have declined slightly the last couple of games, but I still think he’ll cover this PR against the Raptors.

Averaging 19.8 points per game this season, Scottie Barnes has been instrumental in Toronto’s rise in 2025-26.

Barnes has hit 15+ points in 13 of his last 15 games, including dropping 18 points on the Celtics when they played a couple of weeks back. Nice kicker in the SGM.

Boston Celtics @ Toronto Raptors
