A huge NBA slate this Thursday with 11 games with plenty of storylines. KAT vs Randle, Wemby vs Luka, and Maxey vs Mitchell from two teams currently leading the way in the East.

This has developed into an unlikely rivalry after the Towns trade last year with the big man moving to New York after nine years with Minnesota. Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo went to the Timberwolves in the deal, and the former Villanova Wildcat did not hold back getting in a heated exchange with Assistant Coach (and Jalen’s Dad) Rick Brunson the first time they met.

Both teams have been solid this season without being outstanding with 4-3 records – what can we expect when they meet in New York?

Another strong start to the season for Jalen Brunson. Minutes are certainly not as high as they were under Thibs, but Brunson continues to perform in his 34 minutes a game averaging 29 points.

Brunson has hit 25+ points in five of his seven games this season, including hitting 30+ on four occasions.

He’s performed well against quality opposition so far this season, so in the ESPN game we’ll see the point guard hit this.

Shooting the lights out to start the season. Mikal Bridges is running at 49% from deep from his first seven games, which includes hitting 2+ triples in his last six games – the only miss being the season opener against the Cavs.

Bridges enters this clash with the Timberwolves performing below par scoring just 10 points in his last two games, but he still hit two triples in these games.

Unsure whether we see Anthony Edwards in this, If we do, this will impact Julius Randle’s scoring which has been next level to start the season, but it shouldn’t affect his assists.

Randle averages 5.7 assists to start the season, and enters this clash with the Knicks off the back of a triple double against the Nets.

Hitting 4+ in six of his seven games this season, he does this again regardless of whether we see Ant.

Minnesota Timberwolves @ New York Knicks
