Monday’s primetime matchup should be a cracker between the red-hot Lions and the struggling Chiefs in Kansas City. Here are my tips for this massive game.

The Lions are flying after 4 straight wins, but come to KC as underdogs, something they won’t mind. Overall, they’re easily the top scoring team in the NFL with 34.8 points per game and have already won 2 of 3 on the road this season. Lions QB Jared Goff is the leading touchdown passer in the league with 12 TDs in 5 games.

The Chiefs up and down season continues. After back to back wins, they went down in a nailbiter against the Jags on primetime last week (31-28). But they get back on home turf this week, where they beat up on the Ravens 37-20. However, the Lions will pose a much different challenge.

Detroit upset the Chiefs a few seasons ago at this venue, winning 21-20. The trends say that they can do it again. In their last 5 games, they’ve covered in 4 of them. Playing on the road also shouldn’t pose an issue, they’ve won 10 of their last 11. Meanwhile, the Chiefs are just 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games and have been very inconsistent in 2025.

Gibbs is looking for 5 straight games with a TD and I wouldn’t bet against him doing it again. The Chiefs run defence hasn’t been great this season as they’re ranked 21st in the NFL for rushing yards. They also gave up 2 rushing TD’s last week.

250 passing yards for one of the hottest QBs in the league should be a mark that Jared Goff can beat. He comes off 258 yards against the Bengals and also passed 250 yards against the Bears in Week 2. If this becomes a shootout between Mahomes and Goff, there should be plenty of chances to get past 250.
