Paternal looks the most likely for me after an impressive first up run, where he was slowly away & checked near the turn, but was still able to overcome that & score by a narrow margin. He looks to have a ton of upside & can go to a new level here.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Footlights resumes for the Busuttin\/Young stable here today, having been gelded after a lacklustre finish to his last campaign. He had a strong beginning to his career, winning on debut & then running well in the following start, so the talent is definitely there. The gelding may do the trick here today and if he\u2019s well supported, he should run well here.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Island Edition exploded onto the scene last year, winning by an impressive 4.8L at the Ballarat Synthetic track. He then jumped straight to Open class at Caulfield, where he was slowly away and also checked at the 600m mark. The bad luck continued for him throughout the prep, facing similar troubles in each of his runs. He resumes here against a weaker field and with a better run in transit, he looks the one to beat.<\/span><\/p>\n

          Catapult has a tendency to be slowly away in his races, which is generally a hindrance as he relies on luck in the run. With the right run though, he can win races in this grade, as shown this time last year, when he won two races back-to-back. He draws a positive gate today & if he jumps with them, he could have a chance to finish over the top of them, particularly if the rail is off after the rain in Sydney throughout the past few days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
