FLEMINGTON RACE 6 – 15:00 AEDT

3YO OPEN The Coolmore looks wide open this year, and it’s made even more interesting by a few of the lead in runs from the first couple in the market. The highly touted Farnan was ridden aggressively last start by Bowman, and failed to finish off the race, but has trialled well again since. The talented Anders also had a questionable lead in, as went under as $1.35 favourite in his last run at Caulfield. Favourite September Run has been in top form however, and looks to secure her first Group 1 victory.

This race looks set to be a mad dash, with noted frontrunning types; Anders, Farnan, Holyfield and Wild Ruler all set to push forward. Glenfiddich and Swats That look to get the run of the race behind the leading division. Favourite September run draws out wide, and should be able to settle midfield. Flying Award looks to be the backmarker here.

Was superb last start at Group 2 level, sitting behind the leader before taking over at the 300m mark and scoring a dominant win. He was good without winning last prep, and fought on bravely against the top liners in the Group 1 JJ Atkins when he was caught wide. Has taken the next step this prep and looks right in this again.

It’s hard what to make of Anders here. He had been nearly unbeatable in his previous starts, winning by dominant margins over quality fields, but then went to Caulfield and went under as a $1.35 favourite in a three horse field. He was vetted and it was revealed he was suffering from heat stress, which sets him up for a great bounce back performance here.
