MOONEE VALLEY RACE 7 – 20:15 AEST

3YO+ OPEN Friday night racing kicks off again at Moonee Valley and it looks set to be a cracking night of racing, with the Moir Stakes the headline act. It looks an interesting race, with a number of horses making the jump to Group 1 level. Whilst frontrunners Pippie and Fabergino are suited at The Valley, the pace in the race looks hot which could set it up for backmarkers such as Trekking & Brooklyn Hustle.

Looks to be a dash to the finish here over the 1000m, which is generally the case at The Valley. Pippie looks to be the likely leader here after drawing favourably in gate 5, however will face pressure from Fabergino, Hey Doc & Jungle Edge, who will also be vying for the early lead. Trekking, Hanseatic and Brooklyn Hustle should settle at the rear of the field.

Resumes here after a 160 day spell with a big watch on her to see if she can continue her unbeaten first up run. Last prep she took out the Group 1 Oakleigh plate first up in an all the way performance at Caulfield. She maps to lead here which is always a positive at The Valley and she could prove tough to gun down late.

Highly touted WA runner who is having only her second start in Victoria. She has been impressive in recent runs, including her comfortable victory at Flemington which showed she could measure up outside of WA. This will be her most difficult test to date, up against a solid Group 1 field, but she certainly looks right in this.
