FLEMINGTON RACE 9 – 15:35 AEST

OPEN Looks to be an interesting edition of the Makybe Diva Stakes, with many of these runners resuming, with their eyes set on bigger and better races this prep. The lightly raced Russian Camelot is firmly in the spotlight after making an impressive rise through the grades last prep. Another interesting runner is the talented Dalasan, who failed as a short priced favourite first up at Morphettville. This is a wide open race and almost any runner can win this.

Gailo Chop looks to get all the favours out in front, with the race devoid of speed outside of him. Perhaps Quick Thinker or Vow And Declare can push forward from a wide gate and be prominent. The race looks to get a touch messy from here, with any of number of horses able to push forward or back. Russian Camelot is likely to be at the rear of the field however.

Resumed last start in the Group 1 Winx Stakes and was slowly away, before battling away to line for a narrow third, in what was a solid return. In recent preps, he has either held his form or improved second up in the past. He was given a strong barrier trial at Gosford since his first up run and looks primed to run well here.

All eyes are on him today after an impressive rise through the grades last prep, which included a seven length demolition at Pakenham and also Group 1 success at Morphettville to end the prep. I can’t find him today however, as I doubt he’ll be fully wound up with bigger aspirations later in the Spring. He’ll also be a long way back in what looks to be a muddling race.
