RANDWICK RACE 7 – 15:45 AEST The first Group 1 of the season is here and what better way to kick it off than with the Winx Stakes? The Bostonian has been well backed in early markets and heads the field, along with the talented Master of Wine, who has been turning heads in his past two preps. The chances don’t stop there though and practically every runner has a chance of winning this race. Welcome back to Group 1 racing!

Speed should be fair, with Dreamforce expected to cross from the wide barrier and lead them out. Next in line should be either Wolfe or Quackerjack. Two of the top runners, Con Te Partiro and The Bostonian are likely to be next, with both gaining the advantage of inside barriers. The rest of the field lack early pace and will need to sort themselves out. Avilius looks the likely backmarker.

Dreamforce has turned into somewhat of an iron horse in recent preps, leading all the way and daring the rest to chase him down. These tactics culminated in Group 1 success last prep and with the recent track bias at Randwick, this puts him right in the mix again. He’s had two trials leading into this, so we can assume it’s all systems go first up.

Has been well backed in early markets, due to his brilliant first up form, combined with his brilliant wet track form. It’s hard to fault the punters reasoning, with his worst first up performance being a 2.15L loss in the Group 1 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley. Draws a nice gate here and looks right in the mix.
