The 1400m distance makes it an intriguing affair, with sprinters such as Santa Ana Lane stepping out past their comfort zone up against top quality milers who might find it a fraction short. The field looks wide open here and should be a quality race.

Dreamforce once again gets all the favours out in front here and he can run them along at his own pace from a middle barrier. Last week winner White Moss shouldn’t be far away either, along with Olmedo and Fasika from wider barriers. Bivouac should get a good run behind those on the rail. Pierata maps further back with much of the field and Santa Ana Lane looks to be last on the rail in the run.

1. PIERATA ($4.40)

Pierata has always been a very talented horse and has been consistent throughout his career. He won this race last year against Osborne Bulls with a fantastic display and the 1400m poses no issue to him here. He’ll be peaking third up here and looks a deserving favourite.

3. DREAMFORCE ($9.00)

Has really shown his talent in recent times, finally culminating in an all-the-way victory in the Group 1 George Ryder last start. He was able to control that race in front and although he was helped a little by the track bias, it was another strong performance. Could very well find himself in a similar position with little pressure again today and looks to be right in this

|
