The scratching of Orleans Rock really opens this race up and Golden Gorge should be able to take advantage of that. Was wide at Pakenham last start as a red hot favourite, so I’m willing to forgive that run. Has been given a good break between runs and the blinkers go on today. I think he’ll prove tough to beat.

Wide open field here but I like the look of Lunakorn, who scored the first win of her career last start in smart fashion at Pakenham over Hasseltoff (who can give us a guide in race 3). She steps up in grade here but she has room for improvement and can make it two wins in a row to kick off the prep.

Despite Zayydani rising in class here, this looks like a weak BM78 and she can take advantage of that. She’s proved to be a smart filly in her short career, scoring two wins from just three starts. Last start she sat last at Moonee Valley and never really got into it. She should be much better suited at the spacious Sandown track.SANDOWN RACE 4 – 14:30 AEST
