FLEMINGTON RACE 7 – 16:10 AEDT The 2020 Australian Guineas looks set to be a cracker as the top 3-year-olds fight it out to see who will come out on top. Alligator Blood found arguably his top competitor to date in Catalyst last start in the Group 3 C S Hayes but still managed to keep his four-run win streak intact. The big question will be; can Catalyst overturn the margin here?

Pace looks to be modest here and Alligator Blood should be able to lead them along at his preferred tempo. Catalyst may slot in just behind him or sit outside of him along with Alabama Express who should also be prominent early. Dalasan and Chenier should be the next pair.

Supremely talented gelding who has now won nine of his ten career starts. He faced his toughest test to date last start against Catalyst yet managed to show his fighting spirit and battle it out for a grinding win. Very hard to knock this winning form and no doubt will be fighting out the finish once again.

NZ boom horse who took it Alligator Blood last start. That narrow loss snapped a six-run winning streak but more importantly for mine, showed that he was more than able to stick it with one of Australia’s best 3-year-olds. Should appreciate the jump to 1600m and if not engaged in a speed battle should prove extremely tough to beat.
