OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This is the first inaugural running of Racing NSW\u2019s newest race \u2013 The Hunter. With $1 million up for grabs there is a quality line up for the race which headlines one of the rare Newcastle Saturday feature meetings. With a bit of class injected into the Provincial meeting the day and race both look set to be a cracker.<\/p>\n

SPEED MAP<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Race pace should be more than genuine here with a number of frontrunning types engaged. Maybe we will see any one of Savatiano, Manicure, Goodfella or Sir Plush take on the lead, or perhaps we see a speed battle up front which sets it up for one of the backmarkers such as Brave Song, Tactical Advantage or Fiesta.<\/p>\n

KEY RUNNERS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

  1. LE ROMAIN ($10<\/a>)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Talented horse who although is starting to get on a bit (in regard to his age) has still been racing well. Last start finished within a length of the supremely talented Pierata in the Redzel Stakes over this distance which is great form for this race. No doubt this is a target race with such good prize money on offer and has a distinct class edge over most of this field.<\/p>\n

    1. GRAFF ($3.60<\/a>)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Another runner who holds a recent defeat to the talented Pierata, this was at Group 2 level at Randwick over 1100m however. I\u2019m confident the 1300m should pose no issues to the Lees trained runner who has been racing well without winning this prep at Group 2\/3 level. Looks a deserving favourite here and no knock.<\/p>\n

      1. TACTICAL ADVANTAGE ($9.50<\/a>)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Tactical advantage is an intriguing runner who could get the race run to suit should there be a speed battle up front. He is coming off a strong 1.5L victory at Listed grade over Holbien but prior to that was racing at Group 1\/2 level and finishing only a few lengths away from the winner. The endless Newcastle straight should play favourably for him and he can feature in the finish.<\/p>\n

          Was impressed by his first up run behind Pierata in the Redzel Stakes and he looks set for this race. 1300m can be a tricky distance but he has shown that he can run well over a range of distances. Should take improvement 2nd<\/sup> up and
