RANDWICK RACE 7 – 16:15 AEDT

Here it is. The world’s richest turf race is back again for a third inaugural running and the hype surrounding it has only increased. The Everest has again attracted the world’s best sprinters and looks set to be a genuinely cracking race, with every horse having a winning chance. Redzel is the only horse to win The Everest, scoring back to back wins of the race, however he’ll have his hands full here as he shoots for his third consecutive Everest.

This looks to be a frantically run edition of The Everest, with noted speedsters Nature Strip & Redzel sure to set a breakneck speed out in front. Also amongst the front runners is Sunlight who may elect to hold them out. In Her Time should get a great trail behind these leaders. Backmarkers Santa Ana Lane and Brave Song might be suited by the tempo but they’ll need to fly if they are to catch those in front.

Currently rated as the world’s best sprinter, which is no easy feat considering the quality of sprinters around currently. When he is at his best, he is nearly untouchable, as we saw during his barnstorming TJ Smith victory this year, however he is sometimes a bit hit and miss. Returned well, finishing only half a length from Sunlight in the Gilgai.

Extremely talented horse who has gone from strength to strength and finally scored a Group 1 victory in the All Aged Stakes during the Autumn Carnival. Has returned well again this prep, finishing a narrow second to Redzel first up, before turning the tables scoring a strong victory over Redzel second up. This is no doubt his grand final and will be peaking here. Looks a great chance.
