OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2019 Toorak Handicap looks like a genuine lottery, with any number of runners able to take this race out. Princess Jenni is the current favourite at $7, which just shows you the depth of the field.\u00a0 Nonetheless, it looks like a cracking race to end the Group 1\u2019s at Caulfield on Guineas day. Land of Plenty took out this race last year.<\/p>\n

SPEED MAP<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Expecting another strongly run race here with the speedy Cliff\u2019s Edge likely to lead them away from one of the inside barriers. Among the leaders will be Age of Chivalry, Miss Siska and Streets of Avalon, all who have drawn closer to the outside. Iconoclasm and Tom Melbourne might have their work cut out early along with a few of the backmarkers.<\/p>\n

KEY RUNNERS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

  1. WIDGEE TURF ($14<\/a>)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Has risen through the grades throughout his career and has always seemed to pop up and score a win here and there. Has returned well this prep, putting in two solid runs but in particular his last start run in the Group 1 Rupert Clarke looked promising, running home well to finish third behind Begood Toya Mother.<\/p>\n

    1. FIERCE IMPACT ($13<\/a>)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Jumps up in class here but was super impressive last start, putting in a strong run before just being nailed by Kolding on the line. Kolding has since gone on to win the Epsom which is no small feat. Fierce Impact should improve from that first up run and looks one of the top chances here.<\/p>\n

      1. PRINCESS JENNI ($7<\/a>)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Princess Jenni was only home fairly first up in what was a slightly disappointing run, however she made amends for it as a drifting favourite last start at The Valley when she put in an eye-catching run from the rear to finish right over the top of them. Very talented horse who looks to add another Group 1 to her resume.<\/p>\n

        BLUEY\u2019S PICK<\/strong><\/h3>\n

        1. PRINCESS JENNI ($7<\/a>)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          It was hard to not be impressed by her performance last start, bursting clear at the turn before showing a classy turn of foot to score a relatively comfortable win. Has shown a penchant for winning big races previously and despite being a backmarker, actually maps into a decent position here. Backing her electric sprint to be good enough late here.<\/p>\n
