ROSEHILL RACE 7 – 16:05 AEST

A small, but quality field assembles for this year’s renewal of the Golden Rose with the countries top 3-year-olds set to slog it out over 1400m at Rosehill. Highly touted Godolphin runner Bivouac bounced back after being beaten as a $1.30 favourite two starts back but faces stiff competition here against the likes of Group 1 winner Castelvecchio, Yes Yes Yes & the runner who lowered his colours, Exceedance.

Outside of Yao Dash, there looks to be a lack of speed in this race which should suit the aforementioned runner, who should get a relatively soft lead out in front. Bivouac is likely to be forward also and shouldn’t have any issues from barrier 6. The other runners are all backmarkers and will bustle amongst each other for positions.

Was a drifting favourite in his first up run and wound up at the tail of the field, which proved an impossible feat to overcome. Still managed to rattle home and pick up fourth in an eye-catching run once he got warm. Extremely talented horse who has succeeded at this level before.

Well backed in early markets after bouncing back in style last start after going down as a $1.30 favourite the previous start. His loss can be overlooked as the track was bottomless that day. Reminded us all of how talented he is last start and looks a deserved favourite, albeit a short one.
