Cranbourne R4

There are two major chances in this race with the first being Lagerfeld from the Maher and Eustace camp. This horse has had a long preparation, but he has hardly put in a bad run and should have won last start, but he went too far back and ran out of time to run down Beeokay who has since run second in a handy race.

Maher’s apprentice Teo Nugent takes the ride on Lagerfeld so he will have a two kilo claim and will end up well off in the weights.

The other big chance in the race is Tony Vasil’s Fifth Amendment who is an inexperienced galloper but was very impressive winning on debut and should go on with it from here. This is a tougher race, but this horse looks to have good ability.

Shamino won strongly over 1000m at Cranbourne last start and is another one to keep safe.

Tip: Lagerfeld $3.90/$1.75 & Fifth Amendment $5.50/$2.15/quinella

Bet Now

Cranbourne R6

Is Don Is Good from the Gelagotis yard looks to be at overs here. He has won two in a row with his last win over this distance and at this grade.

The other main dangers are Reserve Street from the Maher and Eustace team and High ‘n’ Dry from the Ellerton/Zahra yard.

Reserve Street has been in fine form this preparation and placed in a much tougher race last start before going for a quick freshen up.

High ‘n’ Dry is second up and has terrific second up form winning over the mile as his second start last time in. He is a horse that is looking for more ground so returning as a more experienced four-year-old, he might need another run before he reaches his peak.

Tip: Is Don Is Good each way $8/$2.60

Bet Now

Warwick Farm R6

Esperance from the Godolphin stable is dropping back in class and back to 1100m here and should get the win. The winner was too good for him last start, but this is a much weaker race and he is due for a win.

He’s been letting the punters down lately, but this is as suitable of a race as he will get and with the best jockey in the world on his back, Hugh Bowman, it should be his day.

The other favourite in the race is team Snowden’s Chabreet who broke his maiden impressively last start.

My main question with him is that his win was only over 900m in a weak maiden at Newcastle and stepping up to a BM70 over 1100m is big jump for a young colt.
